Enjoying the sand between my toes off the coast of Boracay, Philippines.
Hi, I’m Maribel.
Born and raised in North County San Diego, I am a nature and art lover to the core. I will in the spur of the moment create things with clay, charcoal, oils, watercolors and other mixed media or explore gardens, art museums, and galleries in my spare time.
Years ago, I entered a few competitions such as the Museum of Living Artists in San Diego’s Balboa Park, the Oceanside-Carlsbad Art League and MOLA’s International Exhibition and received some awards and honorable mentions. It’s been quite some time since I’ve re-entered the art scene, but I am eager to give my soul the needed time to get back to creating and meet those who want to do the same. Regardless of skill level, I truly believe that we all have a creative little monster in us that wants to get something out. Let’s embrace exploring, learning, and making things. My other weaknesses include gardening, food and travel. In the meantime, let’s have some fun together.
Family
I am the oldest of three. Image on the left was taken in Oceanside, CA. Our father wanted to capture our smiling faces but all we wanted to do was play in the sand, pick up rocks, and seashells. Our mom (Lucy), Dad (Jerry), Jessi, and me.
Emily & Dad
Image is of our youngest sibling who came into the world years later. Here she is with our dad taking in the salty air and sun in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico sporting twinsie straw hats.
My husband, Jon and I enjoying a hot and humid day overlooking the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Philippines.
Image above is a tribute to our beloved little boy Finley. He was our Airedale and Jack Russell Terrier that brought us much terror, shoes, laughter, joy and love. 🤍
